and Julian are riding for the second time as part of the Race for Grace
team in the Hotter 'n Hell bike ride in Wichita Falls, Texas. Last year
they rode a whopping 25 miles! That's no easy feat for small legs. They
braved the heat, wind, and one wipe out, but they are back for more
this year because they know it is for a good cause.
Lucia and Julian have heard their whole lives about health care disparities in rural areas and developing countries. They have also seen the good works that the International Child Care organization provides in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, including Grace Children's Hospital in Port-au-Prince. As they grow older, they are encouraged to do their part to make the world a better place.
Lucia and Julian (who are turning 9 and 6) both have August birthdays, and just like last year they are asking for donations to their Race for Grace team instead of birthday presents. Now as veteran riders, they are raising the bar and setting their goal to $1500! Help them reach their goal and show them that no matter how young, they can make a difference in the world!
